Brno, 17 July 2012 – This year’s new model, the Zetor Forterra HSX, entered serial production in June. The first finished tractors are heading to the USA. Orders for the new line have also been coming in from the Czech Republic, England, Holland, and Poland. The first Zetor Forterra HSX tractor left the assembly line on June 25. Among the model’s main innovations is the power shuttle feature, which greatly contributes to the increased comfort of the tractor operator.
The new Forterra HSX model builds on the legacy of the tried and tested Zetor tractor series. It is a universal tractor designed to work with agricultural attachments and industrial adaptors.
“Our goal is to offer customers equipment that will substantially ease their workload and lower their costs - operating costs, for example. The Forterra HSX is our latest in a line of innovation - it boasts the new technological design feature HitchTronic, thanks to which the tractor automatically adapts to the conditions of any terrain when ploughing,” says Marián Lipovský, Deputy CEO and Manufacturing Director of ZETOR TRACTORS a.s. Interest so far in the new tractors has lived up to the maker’s expectations and plans.
Farmers can look forward not only to ploughing in comfort, but also saving money on fuel. The new concept 16-valve engine will enable them to save up to 2.9 litres of fuel every hour, while reaching a maximum rated power of 100 kW (an increase of 8 % over 8-valve engines). The engine features a 34% torque boost and a lifetime of up to 8 000 engine hours. Thanks to excellent start-up capability even in the coldest weather, farmers needn’t worry about leaving their fields uncultivated.
The Zetor Forterra HSX was first introduced to the public at this year’s Techagro trade fair in Brno. Customers could give it a test drive during the ZETOR FAMILY TRACTOR SHOW, which had visited four locations in the Czech Republic by mid-June, before heading off to Slovakia and Lithuania; it’s now planning to cross to Latvia and Poland. The new Forterra HSX was also introduced at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh. Other venues and trade fair presentations will follow.
